Red Ribbon Week is a national initiative for drug awareness and education aimed at kids and teens to allow them to understand the dangers of drug use and drug abuse. Red Ribbon Week was founded in the 1980s after the death of DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarenain 1985, and became nationally recognized with the support of Nancy Reagan and the Clinton administration.
